New “Healthy Schools Pioneer” Toolkit
The new Southampton Healthy Schools Toolkit is now available for all schools to use as they progress to the next stage which is called “Healthy Schools Pioneer”.
The Pioneer Toolkit is in two parts and has been locally adapted from the national guidelines to help schools to review their current status and plan specific action relevant for their school community.
The Annual Review
This is a self assessment checklist which will help you to identify and celebrate all that’s currently happening as part of Healthy Schools. It will also identify any areas that you may need to take action or develop further

The Pioneer Planning Tool
The Pioneer Planning Template uses the “Plan Do and Review” model to help schools identify their health and well-being improvements for their children and young people. This approach helps to address local health priorities based on identified needs and works closely with parents, carers and the wider community to bring about health behaviour change.
The priorities and action plan will identify agreed health and well being outcomes and schools will be guided to measure their progress using base line data and outcomes.
